Plasma Lasers Collisionaly Pumped Recombination Pumped Optically Pumped

Publications
Lasers which operate in a highly ionized plasma environment. Many plasma lasers have transient gain
medium generated by using a high power pulsed laser and focusing it onto the
material to be ablated. Others are based on rapid expansion of hot plasma from a
nozzle. Some plasma lasers operate continuously (for example recombination lasers in stellar
atmospheres). The goal of most researchers is to construct efficient UV and
x-ray lasers.
