Amateur Astronomy
Amateur Spectroscopy
Observe stars with laser emission spectra from your backyard with a
telescope and a small piece of diffraction grating between the eye and
the eyepiece.
The spectra of the elements are plotted using a Java program.
The simulation reconstructs the emission lines with adjustable parameters
such as line width and spectral range.
Amateur Astrometry
Observe quasars exceeding 1000 times the speed of light with a simple
CCD camera equipped amateur telescope.
