RADIATIVE RECOMBINATION
Recombination of an ion with an electron with the emission of photon which
radiates away the excess kinetic and binding energy.
Proceeds at a rate which is directly proportional to the electron density,
therefore it becomes the dominant process in lower density plasmas commonly
found in planetary nebula or the outer parts of stellar atmospheres.
(about 10^10 ?? electrons per cubic centimeter)
