Spectra of Gas Discharges
Most common elements in solar spectrum.
(displayed in order of decreasing abundance)
The following images are color coded spectra of various
elements undergoing electrical discharge excitation.
The spectra for each element is computed, screen captured
and stored as a 784 X 8 pixel JPEG then expanded vertically
by your web browser to 784 X 64 pixel.
The narrow height is to reduce transmission time, it expands
to 64 pixels using HEIGHT=64 option in IMG tag of HTML file.
To use these images outside the context of a web browser,
you should expand them vertically with image processor.
Note: These images are deep 24 bit color plots,
therefore you may need to increase the color depth of your system
to view subtle details in these spectra.
