LASING WITHOUT INVERSION (LWI)

If more than two levels are involved, certain levels can be coherently prepared in such a way that the absorption of radiation at the laser transition frequency is turned off. A special laser pump can generate Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) allowing for Lasing Without Inversion (LWI) is possible.
